Default Scuffing Clutches ??

A friend has a 95 kit installed. The clutchis slipping. We installeda stiffer dome and it still slips but not as bad. The clutch adjustment is correct.

Someone suggested scuffing the clutches. They may be glazed. Sounds like a no brainer.

Anyone here done this and can give expert advice??

He also considered a locking clutch. Which is best??

While I don't have a direct answer to your question...
If I was going to take the whole damn clutch out and it wasn't working well, I think I'd just replace the discs rather than try scuffing them only to find out I had to redo the job.

If the clutches are glazed they had to get hot to do that. Change them out.

Replace the discs and skip on scuffing. You wouldn't really want to remove the primary cover again in short order only to do the job again.

If anything the clutches are glazed. There is only 3500 miles on the bike. Its more for troubleshooting, trying to eliminate possibilities without spending unnecessary money. Ill ask him again if the shop replaced the clutch springs when they did the build.
Makes sense to just replace the clutches or buy a locking clutch.
Thanks
