Default Are 07 trannys shifting smoother?

Just wondering if any folks that have had 06 and prior modelsthat now have an 07 feel the 07 shifts or goes in to gear smoother.

I've had an 02 Dyna, an 05 Heritage, and now an 07 Ultra. I've read comments from the moco that the new design of the tranny gives smoother shifts and pops in to first easier. Mine seems to shift no different that the others I have had.

Not expressing any complaint here. I'm happy with mine, just wondering if others with 07's have noticed a significant reduction in the traditional harley tranny "clunk"!

My '07 doesn't shift any smoother than my '99 did even after the 6 speed gear set was installed.

Very very little difference going into first gear on my sons 07 Glide versus my 06 EGC but he only has 800 miles on his.

This is to be expected. 1st and 5th are straight cut gears - just like previous years' transmissions. My '07 LowRider still had that "clunk" when putting it into gear but shifts into 2nd, 3rd and 4th were much cleaner than with the old transmission.

My '07 Ultra clunks in every gear, and is harder to shift, and louder than my '04 Ultra.

My '07 Heritage shifts smoother than my previous '03 Low Rider. Easier to find neutral as well.

Hard to tell for me. I think putting it into first at a stop, there's no difference. But I think it shifts a little bit smoother the rest of the time. Will have to ride it a little more to be sure.

Just out of curiosity has anyone tried a heavier gear oil in these clunky gearboxes? I use the redline shockproof heavy oil in my lowrider but there is a 85w140 that may quiet them down a bit for under $10. Just wondered.

Every Harley ever made has a clunk going into 1st . The 07 has less of a clunk then my EVO and shifts perfect. The clutch pull is way easier on the new bikes as well , it is a very nice upgrade.
