Default Belt to Chain

Searched forum and can only find old comments. Would like to know pros and cons of converting 10 WG to chain. Building a 124 motor with high HP and torque and am worried about belt breaking. I never broke the belt with my 107 but a friend is afraid to speed shift or come strong off the line on his 117 because he has broke two belts. Thanks.

Do it a 124 is an almost guaranty to snap a belt, especially if you are hard on the bike. The chain is going to be noisier, more maintenance and not as smooth of a ride but it beats the hell out of changing belts all the time.
