Default 2007 1200 sportster clutch adjustment

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for the help.
I have a 07 1200c, when I put it in 1st gear it makes a loud clang. If I start it in gear it pulls a littl forward so I want to see if adj the clutch will help. When adj the clutch do you back the adj screw out till you fell tension or do you back it out till it stops? And is there anything else that may cause this prob?
Thanks again

I don't think you need an adjustment, clunking into first and lurching when starting in gear are both normal. As for the adjustment you go till it just touches. Your service manual will explain the adjustment .
