27t comp sprocket
Anyone running a 27t comp sprocket? I'm thinking it would be a good thing to do, since i want to drop highway rpms and gain a little more top end, and I'm gonna have to change my stock one out soon anyway. The only place I've seen one was Illusion Motorsports. If anyone has one, any experience with them, or knows where i might be able to find one let me know. Thanks.

Haven't run one an don't know where to get one. The fact that they are hard to find should tell you something. But me thinks dropping final drive ratio from 3.15 to 1.92 which make 70mph at 2600rpms a bit too much and makes 5th gear hard to use anywhere except at highway cruise. Plan to get busy with that left foot! JMHO, each to his own. Good thing about it; it isn't too expensive and easy to revert back to OEM primary gearing if it doesn't work out.

We have them, each tooth you go up is about a 3% difference so if your stock comp sprocket is 25 tooth than your talking about 6%. Just keep in mind you loose 6% coming out of the whole so drag racing is not an option unless you have like a 124 motor. Now as far as highway cruising you will enjoy the lowered rpm's if you do a lot of open road cruising. Or you can just give me a call and we'll get you a 6 speed coming.Problem solved lol. If you want that comp sprocket call me 517-339-3835.

If you fit a 27T compensator you will lose out on top end. You will find yourself for ever changing down a gear or more, to keep the poor thing running sweet and prevent it from lugging.
I wonder if you have the numbers the wrong way around? If you lower gearing from a 25T to 23T you will improve your top end, in other words make your bike stronger and faster.
Going to a 27T you will reduce torque at the rear wheel by around 8%. If you go to a 23T you will increase it by around 8%, which will make your bike quicker throughout the speed range.
Give us some more details on what you would like of your bike.
