Default 01 Deuce Clutch adjustment

Last few days I have notice when shifting into first or even changing gear I have been getting a bigger than normal clunk, almost gringing at times.

Checking the cable at handle it is a bit loose (1/4 rather than a dime gap)

Do I need to just adjust cable? or should I go into the primary and adjust clutch there?

Changed all the fluids, adjusted the clutch and cable the "Book way" and the "Easy way" and still seems to be happening, worse as it gets hot?
What else could it be?
No big filings on plugs?
