1998 Harleys and up...I find the clutch pull just fine. Most people neglect the cables and think they are self-lubing or something. Or they lube the cable, not forget the pivot point on the bars. Lube the clutch and throttle cables! I have no such device on any of my Harleys, no problems with the pull.

The 1997 and older models....even when the cable is fully lubed up, they are still hard to pull. But, it is not to the point that it makes your ride a non-pleasurable experience. Starting in 1998, the factory redesigned the clutch for easier pull and more holding capacity.

Cable lube - that must be my problem. Had reduced effort clutches stock in my Sporty's. Changed bars and cables - now - not so easy. But admittedly, didn't lube. Swapping bars and cable on Softy now so will definitely lube them all now.
