Default snapped bolt in transmssion outer case

was installing a new bolt and the bolt snapped, only have the head of the bolt and maybe 4 threads, its the case behind where it says six speed, is this a do it yourself project removing the outer case and then using vise grips to spin the bolt out or am i better of taking it to the dealer?? has anyone else had this happen

go down to your local auto parts store and get yourself a screw extractor kit. usually about $10 or so. Drill into the bolt with the provided bit, then thread the extractor into the hole you just drilled. The bolt will come right out and you won't have to fool with the mess of taking the transmission cover off at all. Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes

Is this a left side drive or a right side drive 6 speed?
