...slightly hammered area on the relief cuts.

Yes , after market plates without the springs is all . As long as the plates aren't scored or warped I'd just take a file and take the raised parts off the edge and go with it . Yours look to be in decent shape and those are like $10 each anymore .

After you clean em up lay them on some glass and make sure they are not warped. If not run em.

If there non directional then after you clean them up you can flip it over. Just be sure they are not warped.

Guys,

Thanks for the excellent advice! I just wanted to make sure they wern't unusually damaged; and this saves me a lot of money, learning how to file down the peened areas and check for warping.
I'll be posting photos of the re-build in the main shovel forum soon if you want to see me try to remedy some really weird damage/hillbilly fixin's...
