Angry SE compensator

I had a clanking in starter with trying to start when it got warm, read allot about everyone having this problem. put in the SE comp. on my 07 street glide it was very easy and to specs. rode down the road when got to 65mph.. 5th and 6th gear motor felt out of balance, so went back to the shop and put the old one back in now everything fells fine. read on others having problems too. some even said there's turn bronz color like rust.

I have one and no problems, if you lug it with the SE comp it will feel funny and could buck some. Give it some rpm it will be fine

The IDS (isolated drive sprocket) kit fixes the rocks in a can noise in the trans that most 07's made if you didn't keep the rpm over 2400. Made a nice difference on mine but will not fix the weak compensator bang on startup. Mike

Well I put in a new OEM stator rotor today and found after examining the old one to the new one that the springs where lose in the old one due to the compression the new one was tight, so when this happens again I'll have extra springs out of the old one to add one to it
and have a stronger compensator. SE comp. just not right yet. to heavy for one thing, viberated in 6th gear with less power and when that small friction spacer goes bad the bolt will get loose and then it's a bad deal. the OEM comp. is right it just needs thicker springs. hope Moco figures it out. Have a great day your friend the Harley mech.

If the unit is installed properly there should not and does not according to my experience with the SE compensator cause the effects in your posts.

If anyone has the same odd results of this poster (rcamp1), chime in.

I just can't warm up to the idea of hanging that heavier SE comp on the end of the crank. If/when my stock comp goes bad I hope I can just rebuild it with new stronger springs.
