Default Clutch Adjustment Socket

I see a few of you have made up your own versions of a deep 11/16" socket with a nut welded on the end (like a spark plug socket) to help set and lock the clutch adjustment nut with a internal hex key.

I'm not a welder. Any of you guys willing to make up and sell the rest of us this handy tool?

I can't seem find them, and I'm tired of deforming the nut from bad offset wrenches.

Thanks, and let me know how much, and how to contact you.

Do what I did, a lot easier....take a 11/16 deep socket and grind two flats on it (one on each side) on a bench grinder and fit a open end wrench on it...voila! Alternatively, you can contact snap-on and ask for their discontinued 11/16 spark plug socket. They allegedly have several left and will sell you one for about $20

I did not use one of those sockets when I adjusted my clutch. All I did was loosen the locknut, backed out set screw, adjust set screw, hold set screw with hex wrench, use box wrench to tighten the lock nut, then torque locknut to spec. The set screw did not move.

Thanks Dawg and 1FLTI4ME,

I think I'll buy a deep socket and flatten the sides with a grinder like Dawg suggested first. Ought to be a cheap fix.
I looked at the unit at Snap-On and is it the weird looking socket with the checked sides, narrow waist and flared end for the wrench? From the pic I'm not sure if it even has a hole all the way through that would let the hex key work.

Just have a larger open end at the grinder and keep checking till you have taken off the right amount of material. Works like a charm.

I just use an offset box end wrench...also I've found that a 17mm fits the lock nut better than a 11/16" on my '06
