Default Clicking noise from primary?

Have a 06 wide glide and noticed a clicking noise coming from the primary. Almost sounds like plastic on metal and no particular pattern to the clicking noise. Is this normal? Bike has 4,500 on it. Thought it might be the primary chain tensioner?

That's what I would check. I have not heard of a tensioner shoe breaking but there's always a first.

I was hoping it was normal. Didn't notice it until I droped my keys while it was idling and bent over to pick them up and picked up on it.

Check inner primary bearing, mine went at 9000 miles. Heard of some 06 Dynas failing at 5000 miles. Check the forums.

Had a friend that had the same sound. Pulled the cover, the comp. nut and the clutch hub nut was loose. Took it apart, added locktite,re-torqued. noise gone.

06 should still be under warranty. I'd get my dealer to check it out. Better safe than sorry.
