Default Tranny overfill

So I did my 20k service the other day. Got the bike up to operating temps before cleaning out the garage and dusting off the tools. Drained and changed the oil no issues. New plugs, boy that was easy. Drained the tranny and made sure it was empty. Read the manual several times to make sure I was putting in the correct amounts of life juice for my bike. HD service manual says trans gets 32 ounces or .95 liters. So I put in .946 liters of fluid, just under 32 ounces, and my dip stick reads way over full, not slightly over full, butt up to the area on the stick above the full mark. Could I have gunk in there? No debris came out in the fluids and the fluid wasn't even dark colored, like the oil gets. I use red line oils and I know there shock proof is like pepto but trust me a full quart came out into the drain pan. I haven't ran the bike yet, for fear of ruining anything. Am thinking about draining it again into a new container and refilling a little at a time. Anyone run into this issue before?

What year bike do you have? Mine you check on jiffy stand. Dipstick should rest on tip of filler, Do not screw in.
