Question Torxs to Allans

I recently had a issue with the taorxs bolts on Derby cover and switched to Hex Head stainless bolts... The Stock bolts had a fixed washer, my question is should I stick with flat washers or get the split kind to lock the bolts in place>
Thanks
John {Bushy}

lock washers are fine as long as you do not over torque the bolts...Why did you switch? did you strip some of the Torx bolts?

had the stock one, replaced them with better ones, dealers did a service and could not get them off.. finally got them off and vowed to never use torxs again

I recommend flats w/dab of blue locktite on threads...lockwashers will marr & grab - could be right back where you started w/torx...JMO
