Th other day when I pulled the clutch lever to shift from 1st to 2nd I heard a snap then the clutch lever went loose. I ordered a clutch cable and installed it. Upon removal of the original it seemed fine. Both are the same lengths. Could something else have snapped?

 

Pull your primary and make sure the snap ring holding your clutch adjuster plate did not break, not likely but a place to start.
