Default Help removing shift shaft seal

Its all apart, primary etc. Found the leak. I have to remove the shift shaft seal so im looking for any tips you pros might pass along. Otherwise im gonna drill 2 holes and use two screws, pull it and try not to destroy the surfaces.
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers, Flhfxd.

You could punch one or two holes and use a slide hammer or get a piece of flat stock, drill a couple holes that match the holes in the seal then use two sheet metal screws to pull the seal out with the flat stock over the end of the shaft.
Just be careful not to nick the shaft!Place tape on the shaft spline before installing the new seal.
Also many replace the stock seal with a Cometic seal.
