Default Clutch Ramp Retaining Clip

I hope someone can answer this question. I have a 2007 Road King Classic. I am installing 16" apes and so far things are going OK. I have one question concerning the clutch ramp assembly that the clutch cable hooks to inside the right transmission access plate. After you install the new cable and the inboard and outboard ramps with the three ball bearings, the manual states that the retaining clip should be mounted with the gap between the ends of the clip aligned with the gap in the access plate. I must have been daydreaming when I put this all back together because I didn't align the ends of the clip with gap in the plate. Is this a critical step in reassembly? It seems to me that they are recommending this to give the clip as much contact as possible with the groove in the plate. So, do I have to remove it all again and redo this? Or will it be OK? Any thoughts, feedback, and experiences would be so helpful.

Thanks in advance.

As long as you can get a proper cable adjustment and clutch response you are probably okay.

Cool. That's what I was thinking. The clutch adjusted up perfect.
