Default 63 stock duoglide clutch problem

Hello,I am slowly getting a stock 63 duoglide on the road.Been sitting since 97.She started up and running good.Engine is strong.I am having a problem with the clutch. It is a birdcage stock clutch setup.1st thing I noticed was the cable was fully turned out at the birdcage. That did'nt look right. When I threaded it into the birdcage. My clutch control went to nothing. The hand lever has no tension. How do I adjust the clutch to get tension back and get teh clutch to disengage? Thanks

Having a problem understanding what you are asking. In my 40 years of riding and working on Harley s never heard the term bird cage. Do you have a clutch booster (mouse trap) or does the clutch cable go to the clutch lever on top of the transmission?

Clutch boosters (mouse traps) can be a pain to adjust.

Even after working on Harley s for 40 years a clutch booster (mouse trap) still takes me time to get right. It is pretty much a trial and error thing. Do you have a manual? This helps some but it is still a pain. I can do them sometimes in 10 minutes and sometimes it takes much longer. I have a 1959 Pan I am working on for a customer and took the clutch booster apart to bead and clean up, replace the bearings but have not put it back together yet. Bike has been sitting in the weather for 10 years. I have a LOT of work going on with it. Sorry I am not much help.

You get a chance post some pictures of the old girl. Do you buy chance live in Georgia? The reason I ask I might be able to help. Sorry hard to explain about adjusting them just one of those things you learn to do.
