Default WEt or Dry Clutch

I bought a 1984 Classic. In the repair manuel there a early 84 dry clutch and late 84 wet clutch. When I opened the primary very little oil came out. I just verified it is a dry clutch. The manual states that there should be25 inches of vacum at 1500 Rpms. Does help drain the oil that lubes the primary chain

If it is a dry clutch set up there will not be much oil in the primary. To tell if it is a dry or wet clutch look to see if there are any oil lines going to the primary. If you have oil lines going to the primary it is a dry clutch and if not it is a wet clutch and should have around a quart of oil in the primary.
