Default Clutch - broken cable but not engaged.

Here goes, out riding this weekend coming down a good slope with the clutch pulled in when suddenly I feel nothing at my clutch lever. First thought clutch cable snapped, second thought why didn't the clutch engage. I haven't gotten a chance to look at anything yet but just did the primary oil, primary chain adjustment and clutch adjustment probably less than 50 miles ago. Any ideas before I go in would be appreciated.

Default Update

I pulled the derby cover this morning and found the pushrod locknut loose. It seems the pushrod worked it's way in? When I try to adjust the pushrod it is not smoothly coming in and out like it was.

Default Another update

Here's where I am the adjustment screw is welded to another rod that is pretty tore up but it came out of the clutch side with a little coaxing. On the tranny side the oil slinger and rest of the push rod came right out easily. I found a washer looking piece, maybe THRUST RACE - BEARING or/and CLUTCH THRUST BEARING
I've been reading about in the posts, laying in the bottom of the tranmission cover. The snap ring is no where to be seen. Also as a kicker when I removed the transmission dipstick the dipstick part broke off and was also in the bottom of the transmission cover.

Ewww, that sounds like a mess. I wonder how hot it has to get to weld parts together.??
