You Might Not Have The '07 Tranny Noise If ...
You Just Might Not Have The Dreaded '07 5th Gear Clatter If...
1) You can't hear the noise.
2) You're not sure if you can hear the noise.
3) You've listened very hard and you're not sure, but you think you may have heard something unusual.
4) Your bike is an '06.
5) You hear a whine in 1st and 5th, or in 1st and 4th, or in 4th, 5th, and 6th, or in any other combination.
6) You've changed lubes and the noise is acceptable.
7) Your bike is not new.
8) You have read the H-D Dealer Memo exlaining that the new 6-speed sounds different than previous trannys and you think, "Well, maybe that's it".
9) The noise is irritating and embarassing but you think maybe, just maybe, it's normal.
10) You cannot hear the noise from a block away.
11) Your bike makes a clunking sound when you change gears.
12) Your riding buddies don't immediately ask if something's wrong with your bike.
13) You've never heard the noise but feel qualified to post negative comments to people that do have the problem.
14) Your bike is an '05.
15) You think the people complaining are lugging their bikes.
16) You don't ride the slab and wonder if something really ugly's about to happen.
17) You've had your bike for a while and think the tranny may be starting to make unusual noises.
18) You think the people complaining just don't have your years of Harley experience and probably shouldn't be riding a Harley to start with.
19) You think, "Well I can always just sell it or get a decent trade on an '08".
20) You think you would be able to sell your bike to a knowledgeable buyer.
21) You would, in good consience, sell your bike to a naive, inexperienced buyer.
22) You think the people complaining are too stupid to tell the difference between gear noise or whine and a loud, banging clatter that indicates a problem.
