Default Is there a clutch "interlock" on the perch?

I have a '10 Xbones and am doing my winter mods using my old '01 softail manual. Things have changed. I was planning on installing a foot clutch. My first step was to wire my stock bars. When I went to reinstall then, I realized there was a small spring-loaded switch diretly under the clutch lever. Does anyone know what the switch does?? Am I out of luck?

I would assume that is the kickstand switch, but my bike is an 02 so it does not have one either.

Yes the newer bikes have a clutch interlock switch that won't allow you to start the bike without having the clutch pulled in if it's in gear.

Thanks Dawg. If I start it in neutral, can I bypass the switch?

I would think you should be able to. I can start my bike in neutral even with the switch.
