Default easy pull clutch assembly, not so easy, Q's

i purchased one of the easy pull clutch assembly's. i found out that it has to be ground down on one part. that was not a real big deal. next issue is the kit. it comes with a spacer that goes on the end of the cable, the end that screws into the tranns cover. if i use the spacer, i end up only having 1/4" of threads on my cable end, to screw into the cover. in my oppinion, that is not enough threads to screw into the cover. i believe that it would end up stripping out in the cover.

has anyone else had this problem ?? if so what did you do about it. my thought is, not to use the spacer, and hope i have enough adjustment in the cable housing to make up the difference, to be able to get my clutch adjusted properly.
