Hey everyone! I just got a question about shifting? I've always taken my foot out from under the shifter before each shift and I notice that sometimes the tranny sounds a little rough if I don't shift with authority and really clunk it into gear firmly, I've heard that maybe I should leave my foot under the shifter when upshifting and give a little upward pressure on the shifter before I close the throttle and shift up does anyone else shift this way???I'm still relatively new to motorcycles (3 years since MSF) and especially new to Harley's (3 months) so I'm still learning and I want my new Sportster to last me a looong time and save the tranny. I just use a firm shift. It is a little hard to get use to a Harley Tranny after running riceburners for anytime. Harleys have a clunk to them all the time. It's not bad, just the way harleys sound.
