Dip stick replacement
Hi All,
Anyone ever replace the dipstick with one that is easier to read when checking the level. That chrome stick is tough to read, even after light sanding. I don't like the thought of painting it, but taking six to eight tries to get the level is a pain. I end up sling a finger down looking for a shiny area or using a tissue edge looking for a wet area.
I need some NEW ideas.
Thanks
Ken

Try using Redline Shockproof Heavy gear oil (75w250). Never an issue reading the stick again. Plus you can run it 20,000 miles and your trans will shift quieter.

I've run into that problem with the temp gauge dipstick which is about as thick as a coat hanger. Thinking about putting the stock one back in.
Knowing the oil temp was nice in the beginning but I can pretty much tell what the temp is now by using the thigh gauge.
Edit: It has occurred to me that since this is the trans section you're probably referring to the trans dip stick. No problems there for me. Maybe the pink color helps.
