my 2007 sportster 1200 started making gear noise today...i have read that there are some that make noise....but mine started today did not do this in the past....

here is what i did today...i installed a 3 inch lowering kit, relocated the license plate (do it yourself) did not need to buy a kit...and it looks great...and did a baffelectomy 1 (info not from this site but if you do a search it will come out) i used a rebar to make a whole thru the baffels...

i used it and everything was fine.....then my cousin used it and he came back saying the bike was making some kind of noise...i took it back out and indeed it was making a noise (clanking kind of) also when I shift gears it sound heaver clank when it goes into gear...had not done this in the past...can someone help me hear what can I do?.....it makes the noise more noticeable in 2nd, 3rd and 4 th....help please

 

how long has it been since you changed the tranny oil?
did your cousin have any really hard panic stops?
did your cousin try and beat the sound barrier?

It seems odd that just riding would make that dramatic a difference.
