no neutral, 69 pan shovel, help
I need some suggestions please.
my 1969 4 speed got me stuck at a rally yesterday. After riding 15 minutes to the next stop I pulled up to park ,at that moment I was on a slight uphill grade and could not immeadiately get neutral (as I think we all experience once in a while) so I just turned it off in gear. when I backed up in the parking space with engine off and clucth pulled in I was looking for neutral and felt I was in it; but when I left the clutch lever out it was still in gear. I parked, tried the same thing again and each time i thought I WAS IN NEUTRAL but bike was still in gear. finally I clicked up and down a few times and it rolled freely. I thought all was good. an hour later I go to kick start its and sure enough it's in gear and I cant get it in neutral to start it. a couple of guys gave me a push and it jumped started perfect and shifted normal as I went up the street. Then on the way home i found neutral a bunch of times with out a hitch all the home like nothing ever happened..
Does any body have any ideas that i can look at. I am running 60 wt HD oil in the tranny and have a old style belt primary called the tammer.
