shift lever
Anyone got a good fix on this....This winter I removed my toe/heal shifter to replace a sloppy bushing on the shifter shaft. It's been ok for the past month but the other day the toe shifter slipped on me.Yesterday I tightened it as much as I could, seemed ok till I was coming home last night and it slipped again.I haven't removed the shifters yet so I'm not sure whether the shaft is /might be stripped some or the toe shifter. I'm hoping neither is damaged too bad and I can come up w/a fix especially if it's the shifter as they are nice pieces that match the shift rod and brake pedal.Any suggestions here will be appreciated.....thanks in advance!

i have stripped out my shift shaft twice. they are made out of aluminum and aren't really that strong. my dealership has suggested i go with a single shifter instead, but i ware cowboy boots when i ride and i don't want to mess the toes up. nice thing is it isnt exprensive to fix and i doesn't take much time

I wear cowboy boots too and relly dont wanna mess mine up either.....so,you're saying you changed the shaft ? I had thought of wrapping the hell oughta the shaft with teflon but I'm not sure that'll work either.I do have an indy here in town and I can ask them or order a new shaft, thought I'd ask here 1st.
