Update: I called my dealer and had him order the IDS Sprocket. I will be the FIRST one in this dealership to have this installed. FYI: Harley Davidson stock plummeted today on the report that they will not meet their sales predictions. Maybe they would if they could make a bike that works!! Jeez. I will make another report when my work gets finished. Thanks to you all for all the info on this problem!

Damn! They are down 5.00 bucks today. Close to the 52 week low. "lack of demand in a sluggish economy"," selling a high end product to mid-end and low-end consumers"
What about the RUB'S???

Well guys my bike is finally running well. But damn - the **** and money I went through to make it right!

1. IDS - 395.00 installed
2. Removed the Rineharts
3. Installed the torque smoothing calibration (52.00 because I had SERT in the bike).

I'm telling you this entire experinece has left a very sour taste in mouth. I ended up in a shouting match with my service manger yesterday. The not so funny thing is that they sold me the Rineharts and the SE tuner to solve the factory problems - so they said. The bike will run cooler and smoother [:@] The bike ran like **** with those mods. They got me coming and going on this deal.

Total spent trying to make a crappy design run properly was:

2500.00!

Amount I should have spent:

0.00!

What a racket [>:]

Sorry to hear that. I'm at about 3 grand now myself. I could have bought a CVO with a 6 speed that's all spur gears and it:
a) Would have all the mod's I have now
b) Had more chrome
c) been cheaper
d) cost less

Live and learn - and this has been a hard one.....

Most every Harley I see has intake and exhaust mods, and to do that you have to mod the air/fuel ratio. Without the clatter problem, most folks do that. I did that on every jap bike I had too. Just figure a thousand bucks in intake mods for just about any bike except a gold wing.

So, the only problem I had to fix was my clatter. $200 fixed it. I'm happy.

I'm still tuning the afr for better economy, but I'm happy with the power. It's no 100/100 monster, but I'm happy.

If you have clatter, buy the IDS.

Just curious, why did you have to get rid of the Rineharts?

Hey FX4,

They got yer money & that's all they give a f**k about - screw customer satisfaction, competent quality service, repeat business etc. - get the money today & don't worry about the consequences that come tomorrow. That's clearly the current MoCo philosophy! You're absoutely right - it's a racket! Pretty pathetic. They will never, EVER get another penny from me!

Glad to hear that your bike is finally running right.

Ya'll hang in there,

John
