How did you determine that? I'd like to know, because I have almost exactly the same problem except that the noise on my bike is most noticable in 5th gear. I don't have much noise in 6th. Also, as you describe, the bike has to be hot. I'm taking it to the dealer on Tuesday to see what they say.

I feel sorry for the dealers cause the factory and reps are giving them no info or just plain BS.Both of which want to see my bike,test ride it and return it to me with the We dont hear anything odd,this is normal.Nothing like owning a new vehicle and having to run it in for work that shouldve never been.

This reply is for 211chuck.Did you have to pay for the parade mapping to the ecm.It seems to me if it fixed the problem of overheating and surging it should be covered.I'm having the same problems as most of these guys.I live in charlotte and am very familiar with the dealership.

 

Hi Sorry For The 06 My Dyna Wide Glide Is Bad With Rocks in The Can Noise In 5th Gear It Has Been In Two Times The Factory Rep Rode It And Said I Had The Oil Changer To Formular Ride It Enjoy It Its Under Warrenty If It Brakes We Will Fix It As Long As It Is NOT Abused If You Dont Like It Buy More Warrenty. If I rode The Bike I Would Not Have Purchased It
I Changed The Oil To Amsoil 75-90 Extream Preasure That Helped Just A Little It Is Irratating To Buy A New Bike And Have To Listen To Noise
They Don't Hear It. But When You Ride 25 - 30 mi The Guy Next To You Asks About The Noise

 

With all the complaints, H-D should give you the extended warrenty at no charge.
