rear drive chain side to side

Default rear drive chain side to side

I need some help when i ride my bike the rear drive chain goes side to side shaken kinda. I do not know what is causeing it. I have checked my axle spacers to make sure it is rolling true and I have just put a new chain on. Can anyone help?

If it's adjusted correctly, don't worry about it. Just make sure the sprockets are tight and not bent. My XLCH does the same thing, sometimes hitting the rear fender. No problem... just annoying sometimes.

It's possible that the chain is getting worn, too. If you can move it side to side (halfway between sprockets) more than an inch or so, I'd replace it and the sprockets.

Put a belt on it...All chains are brutal.

Belts aren't needed. They are a nice luxury, but also an expensive one. I wouldn't want to change a classic Sporty to belt drive. It would take away from it's value. Stock configuration is the way to go with those. I still run chains on my race bikes. Never had a problem with them.
