I have adjusted the clutch pack and clutch cables as per other posters recommendations. I am still having probelms with the clutch. The clutch does not slip anymore however it does not seem to be diengaging completely.
Clutch is stock. It has 10500 miles on it. Initially it would slip when I would give the motorcycle gas (engine would rev up and bike would not increase speed). I recently put one quart of oil in. After adjusting the clutch pack the clutch does not slip anymore however it does not sound like the clutch is completely disengaging when I out the bike into gear. It is also hard to get it into neutral. Thanks for the help.
Get a service manual and go step by step, I think alot of folks skip over the part about squeezing the clutch lever when the cable is loose. If you don't do this the clutch mechanism that rides on a ball in a slot will not go to the "home" position and affect the adjustment. May not be the problem, but from personal notes, I slipped up on this. Just been in too much of a hurry.
I did squeeze the handle all the way back to the grip prior to adjusting the clutch pack. It seems as though I run out of clutch cable when trying to get the clutch to disengage.
