How long does it take to replace 5 speed shafts to 6-speed?

What brand 6 speed? It does make a big difference.

Also depends on the type of bike, i.e. touring softail, dyna...etc..

I have 99 Touring. Cheapest brand.

HD Service manager said it takes 4 hours but they charge 8. I read manual and it looks like 1-2 hours job for a good mechanic.

5 to 6 speed, is about 3-4 hours... It is NOT a simple swap....

R&R Exhaust, R&R inner and outer primary, Disassemble trans innerds from case, machine material from case (SE 6 spd), reassemble trans shafts to trap-door, reinstall primary and exhaust...

1-2 hours... I don't care who you are... That's FUNNY!!!!!!

I didn't say I was a good mechanic, definitely not a good bike mechanic.
