Default Help!!! Rattle noise

Hey everyone, been a while since my last post due to busy work schedule. I have this annoying rattle that seems to be getting worse. I originally thought it was in the valve train but now sounds lower. It gets pretty noticeable at 2200-3000 rpm. The shifter inserts were rattling so I "tightened" them but still there. Sounds low and about center on the left side. Now if I hold shifter it is still there. Is it possible that something in the primary is causing this high pitched rattle type noise? Adjustment maybe? Any input would be appreciated. I have gone over the whole thing and no loose stuff. Won't have time to address it for about another month or so due to the fact I am moving. Might be able to get to it sooner but moving is now the priority. Thanks in advance.

2002 FLHRI with a stock 88 except slip-ons and fuelpak.

Check your Y pipe as those tend to crack and can sound like a rattle. A possibility is your primary chain or a louse comp sprocket. Pull the inspection cover and check the chain to make sure it's adjusted correctly. You can also cover the hole with a piece of plastic taped over it to keep the oil mess down and run the bike to hear if the noise is comming from inside the primary.

Remove the one down sheild on the right side to get a better look at the welds on the Y. If you can not see a crack you maybe able to feel the the air rushing out as the bike runs. Also you can apply soapy water around the weld (cold engine) and start it up and watch for the blow by.
