The transmission has a rubber vent hose.

 

Your transmission should hold about 1 pint of lube (that is what my `89 holds), I think you are way overfilled...But I`m sure you haven`t hurt anything, just lower the level by draining it or use the turkey baster method.

There are no o rings on the drain plugs on your bike.

Don`t overtorque the drain plug on the side of the tranny.

 

Thank you Dan the man! I stopped at the dealership on the way home and made sure no o rings(didn't think so!!)

Going to get some extra fluid out right now, warm her up and check level. I'll get some pipe dope and try and talk my wife into plugging the whole with her finger
