the other night while riding i noticed a screeching noise. at first i thought it was a blown tire, it sounded like rubber on metal rubbing. i pulled over and it was obviously coming from the motor. also, while this was happening the engine light (that comes on while the efi is priming) was on along with the battery light. the funny thing is, after i let it sit overnight, it wont make any og the noises anymore. my bike has almost 18000 miles on it and the warranty is up so if anyone has had this happen or knows what it might be let me know.

 

If you got an engine light most likely you have a code stored. Cam chain shoe wear occurs in the neighborhood of your mileage.You are some what early... but every bike is alittle different.Hows the fluid levels,primary,engine oil? Oil pressure during the sound? Which side seems louder?Primary side or cam side?
