Cool Crazy things happen while out on the road.

Hey yall, I just wanted to ask if any body has ever had there heel/toe shifter fall off while going down the highway @ about 75 mph. Not the whole thing just the heel part... It happened to me yesterday as my wife and I were riding from North Carolina back home to Indiana. Is this a common problem or what???

Just when the Bolt is loose...Mine just fell off fathers day,,, after I loosened the bolt.

I removed it cause I don't use it...HD has a cap that goes over the shaft end to still look good..$14.

A couple buddies and I were on the way to the Smokies when the second Bike heal shifter came off. Doing 75mph dodging a heal shifter ain't much fun. We stopped, got the shifter and put it back on when we got to the rally. We used a health dose of blue thread locker. Don't think he has ever had another problem again. This must be a common problem.

Why do you think they give you two of them? Yep, have seen both the the shift peg and the shifter fall off. Happens to people I ride with too. One of my buddies just took his heel shifter off...I told him he would be sorry cause now he doesnt have a spare....ha!
