i got in a wreck and tried to ride away, but my fender was mashed down on my tire, so i burnt the clutch out, ive got the outer primary off, but cant figure out how to get the chain and clutch off

 

What model is the bike and what year.

Harley clutch plates can be replaced with out removing the drive train.

Remove the spring and pressure plate retainer and pull out the plates one at a time. A small pick will help get the plates out that are nearest the inside of the drum.

 

04 electra glide, FLHTI

 

Remove the six screws that hold the spring retainer on. Remove retainer, spring and pressure plate. Remove the friction and steel plates. Buy a clutch kit that has the friction and steel plates. Note the position of the old plates and put the new plates just as the old plates were in.

Energy One Clutches is a good choice and sold by J&P under the Milwaukee Twins brand. Their kit comes with instructions which is little different installation than the stock set up.
