Dropped nut in Tranny--HELP!!
#11
First your starter jackshaft now this. There are times you just gotta walk away and leave it alone for a little bit. I feel your pain. I hate when chit happens like that. I concur, do not leave the nut in there whether it is on the bottom or not. Like Bob said, pull the gear set out, fetch the bugger and slide it back in.

I could have never left it in there. Dawg your right . When it rains it pours. This is what I get when I rush through chit. I'm usually pretty methodical and organized but for some reason I was in a rush. (You know trying to get those parts on before the wife see's the boxes!!!)
Anyway thanks guys for all your help.
Ride safe.

Lucky you...I once dropped a carb nut down the intake on my 1966 Ford Cobra engine......went $hit crazy with a magnet for about an hour till my friend came over. After him talking me down from my panic and at his suggestion I offered my 14 year old paper boy $20 to get that nut out. That kid quietly sat on top of that motor for almost 4 hours and got it. ( minimum wage then was $1.65/hr.)
That was going to be my suggestion. BTW the kid went home and got a spool of fishing line to use with a magnet.

what ever you do dont take this guy's advice. you'd be better off sticking your head in a bucket of water twice and bring it up once. makes you stop and wonder if we took this way of thinking(brain)and put it in a nat's head it would sound like a bb in the bottom of a barrel. good lock take your time, fishing w/a magnet sounds like a good idea before tearing it down. good luck, keep us posted
