Default Question about changing primary fluid...

When you refill the primary through the clutch cover, does the bike have to be sitting upright or can it be on the jiffy stand?

I guess what I'm asking is, if you refill with it on the jiffy stand, will it start running out of the clutch cover hole before you get the entire quart in there?

It needs to be upright and level. Fill the primary until the fluid just touches the bottom of the clutch diaphram spring.

This is how I do mine. I did'nt have to take whole cover off. Just did it because it was the first time and I wanted to see if everything was ok. Lot easier to work on when it is up in the air.

first off, to drain all the oil from the primary the bike needs to be up-right. While you have it up-right, replace the oil.

The fluid will not run out the hole if it's on the jiffy stand.
