Does this look normal
I took the primary cover off today while I was tearing the bike down for a 95" build. I plan on putting an automatic tensioner in it. I was looking at the sprockets and the front and rear sprockets look different. The bike has 22k on it. Is the front supposed to look like this?
Here is a pic of the rear sprocket.

Well, the bike has a few miles on it. I bought it in late spring and never got around to checking the tensioner. The chain had a bit of slack in it. I was worried that he front sprocket was worn? I haven't seen another to compair it to. I didnt know if the front was supposed to look like the rear sprocket with square edges on it.

I would not worry too much about it.
If you did not change your primary oil ever other engine oil change, the dirt that accumilates (clutch fibres, small metal filings from the starter pinion and clutch basket/ring gear) will have more time to get ground onto the the teeth etc and thats what the black marks could be.
Again, if everthing else looks pretty good, don't sweat it.

the dent is factory... to keep the compensator springs from falling out during assembly at the factory
