Question Final Drive Belt Question

In the Harley manual they talk about adjusting your final drive belt while sitting on the bike. With it straight up and down with riders weight on it. I know of no way of doing this by yourself. There must be an adjustment that they use at a dealership when it's up on a lift and no one is sitting on it. I'm installing a new drive belt and was wondering if anyone knew what or how they do this. I can't think they always do it with someone sitting on the bike. Anyone with any experience in this area. I have a 1999 Ultra Classic. Wife and I together weigh about 290. I have the spring loaded belt adjustment tool and I understand how it works. But still there's know way to do it by yourself and my wife weighs alot less then I do.

Thanks
