I'm lost and tired.. Maybe someone can help!
My bike is having issues.. It's a 2006 Fatboy with 11k miles on it. It all started with a burned stator when I was out of town labor day weekend. I got that fixed, but I've been having other trouble ever since. Mike bike has developed a vibration that is driving me nuts. On two occasions, the clutch has come so far out of adjustment, my lever only had the last inch of travel (would not spring back). I have to assume this is a problem somewhere in my primary. I've had this thing apart several times now, and I still can't 'see' anything wrong. I've adjusted my clutch (according to the manual) several times. I'm confident that I'm doing that right. Anyway, here's what I have noticed.
The bike seems to vibrate most at 35 in second, 45 in third, etc.. If I pull in the clutch, the bike rolls smooth. That makes me think it's either the engine or the primary, right?
My clutch has come out of adjustment a couple of times, but the locking nut on the adjuster is tight. The adjuster is not loosening itself. Could the throwout bearing cause all of this?
I have measured the distance from the chain to the outer lip of the inner primary, and it is in alignment (as far as I can tell). The adjuster shoe is worn unevenly, though. The groove on the outside of the shoe is deeper than the one on the inside.
The last time I had the primary cover off (last night), I noticed the outer rim of the primary sprocket (the clutch under the teeth for the starter gear) is a little blue. Is that normal? Is it getting too hot?
I know this has been long, but it's driving me nuts! I'm suprised my fiance hasn't left me yet with all the time I've spent working on it and talking about it. I hate to take it somewhere, because I want to fix it myself, but I think I've been wooped. HELP!

Curious, I know it's an old dead thread, but what did you end up finding: I'll throw my nickels worth in and see how far off I am. let's see: clutch push rod, throw out bearing. Clutch bearings??? Compensator sprockets out of line with clutch sprockets? really curious on this one..
