Default Drive Belt Replacement?

Well my *&^^%^#% drive belt just gave it up today (<67K on it). The parts manual calls for P/N # 40024-97 (139T) but I seem to recall a discussion here about stronger belt being available...a Gates kevlar or something? Not sure. Anyhow, Zanotti lists the OEM at $175 & for that kinda coin if there's a better alternative I'd certainly like to use it.

Thanks,

VicW.

Check with the Gates web site. I am sure they will have the info you need.

I did that, Gates doesn't list a replacement belt for that P/N. I'm not 100% sure it was a Gates belt I read about...memory goes first, right? >grin<

Also, I think HD has a heavier belt available (for sidecar use)...anybody have that P/N?

I found the Harley heavy duty belt listed as part # 40130-03.

I don't have the part number, but the belt was for a side car equipped HD.
