With summer coming to a close here in Ontario Canada id love to get some more km out of my Street Glide. Earlier this evening I noticed that theres a loud whistling sound as soon as I shift into 3rd gear. As the motor goes up the rpm range it intesify the noise and it disapears again once in 4th gear. Is this the cluch? Tranny itself? Maybe a bearing? Let me know my bike is down and I need to get it rolling asap.

What year? Miles? What lubricant are you using in the trans?

 

That gear may be a lot happier than the others.
But seriously, that's a new one for me.

Was I right? Did you just poke 3rd gear in the eye as to stop it from whistling? That wouldn't work I guess....it would probably start screaming!
