Adjust your clutch. Buy a bible. It's worth it.

 

Yes, look in the DIY threads for clutch adjustment and get a SM

 

If you have too much oil in your primary you will get clutch drag, loud shifting into1st gear and very hard to start in gear with clutch ingaged. Drain primary and put in&nbsp\\;just one quart of oil. most likely it will solve your problem. Adjust your clutch while your in the primary 1'2 turn. Sometimes the manual lies.

I think you mean with the clutch&nbsp\\; disengaged. What you're trying to do is done on the clutch cable adjustment. Get a manual if you are going to be working on you own bike.
