what fluid to use in tranny?

RE: what fluid to use in tranny?
After I had 1k on my deuce I decided to go with HD Syn3 in all 3 holes. I read the forums here on the different lubes and decided to go with Mobil1 vtwin in the motor and redline shockproof in the transmission. Let me tell you from experience that when I drained the syn3 and put Redline in the tranny it was like day and night, the shifts are smoother and finding neutral is a breeze I highly recommend the redline for your transmission.

scroll down to the bottom to find the shock proof, and then pick HEAVY.

RE: what fluid to use in tranny?
I've looked everywhere in my area (north eastern Kentucky) I can think that would carry the Mobil 75-90 trans fluid and still came up empty handed. I did find Lucas 75-90 and Rev-Tec 80-90 at a couple of custom bike shops. Anyone have any experience with either of these. I'm trying to keep from having to mail order if possible. thanks

RE: what fluid to use in tranny?
I use a squirt of Lucas in my British bikes and '79 FLH Shovel's engine and primary. All of these bikes have marginal oiling systems, noisey top end chatter with low pressure and sub par cooling compared to the new bikes. The Lucas gives the cooling and lubrication some bite and maintains visconsity for engines that should be running heavy weight oil. On my 99 and 06, I just use Mobile one 75w90 in the tranny and v twin in the engine and call it a day. No need for any oil additives since the lubrication system runs on much higher pressure and has those new style shooting oil nozzles on the twin cam.
