Default RE: shift

Max speed would vary with RPM limits which would vary with ECM programming.

The OM states I should shift into 5th at 50 mph, on my 1200 XL, but I freq shift at 55-65 mph. It depends on what mood I'm in and like TC said your setup also. Tim

Dang dude. Your ride will tell you when it is ready to shift. If it is bucking and jumping or the rev limiter is popping you need to go up or down.

Just ride. You will learn when you need to change. Just enjoy the ride while learning.
