Default clutch for 113"

Is it enough to go with a new set of plates, like the Energy 1 extra plate kit with/spring for my HQ 113" build? they say there is 10% more spring tension than stock and 11% more surface area than stock. Is that enough clutch for this build?

I am not familiar with that set-up. Most times just changing the clutch spring will give you a lever pull that is way too hard for most. You could always go to an AIM VPC and actually reduce lever pull and increase clutch holding power. Or, there is always the Primo Pro Clutch, a great unit that will handle all your build will make and then some with a stock feeling pull. When adjusted right it also is makes for a much quieter, smooter shifting bike.

Dalton, do i need to replace the entire clutch, like the basket and hub or just the plates and spring. The clutch I have in there now is the original with 33,000 miles on it.

If you go with a VPC, it just adds on to the top of the clutch, although with 33k you might want to replace the discs.

A Primo comes with a new inner basket, plates and pressure plate. The new inner is required as it is a smaller diameter allowing for wider discs, increasing the friction surface.

I have a BDL belt drive with a 113, I used to runall 9 springs but it was so hard to pull the clutch in, now I have the ball bearing centrifugal clutch so clutch pull effort is very easy... It holds fine and pulls like a bitch
