RE: Torque Question - Primary Cover Screws
If it's still leaking, and you know the gasket was installed correctly, you've probably warped the new outer primary cover. If you look at 1FLTs pattern, it's like putting a head on a car motor - you work from the center out so that the tension applied to the cover works itself towards an outside surface.
The service manual is under $60 bucks, a new primary cover has to be over $300 bucks. Hmmm, who saved how much?

RE: Torque Question - Primary Cover Screws
The torque wrench is important. You might want to get a new gasket and try again using the bolt tightening sequence. First snug them all lightly to seat the gasket all the way around then work the tightening sequence with the torque wrench. I use the sears "clicker" style torque wrenches which seem to work well for me. The instructions are very easy to read and you can usually find them on ebay new. (don't buy a used one). Don't forget to put some blue loctite on the bolt threads to keep it locked in place. Also, you should be able to get a service manual for under $50 at Zanotti's (well worth the $$)Believe me once you get a service manual you will realize what you were missing.
